GENERAL MIDI FAQ

  • COLORTONE uses a 3.5mm TRS TYPE-A connection for MIDI control.

    RING - Current Source (Pin4) Vcc

    TIP - Current Sink (Pin5) Data

    SLEEVE - Shield (Pin2)

  • The MIDI out port acts as MIDI pass-through so you can Daisy-Chain MIDI capable devices

  • Via your MIDI controller you can use an expression controller to control any parameter available on the COLORTONE pedal

  • One of the benefits of MIDI is its ability to use a common β€˜Clock’ for tempo related effects such a Delay Time and Modulation Speed.

    If your MIDI controller has a Tap Tempo capability the set rate can be fed to the pedal via the clock.

    β€’ Using MidiClockDivide. CC41 gives you the ability to Divide the Clock into different increments. 0=0.25 32=0.5 64=1 96=2 127=4

    β€’ Depending on the controller you may need to activate CC40 MIDI Clock Override where 0 = OFF and 127 = ON. This will both force the Pedal to use the MIDI Clock when on and switch it back to ignoring the Clock when set to β€œ0”

  • COLORTONE uses CC 33 for activating preset numbers

    β€’ 0 = Preset 2 (Live Controls)

    β€’ 64 = Preset 1 (Locked Controls)

    β€’ 127 = Preset 3 (Locked Controls)

    β€’ Effect On / Off CC37

    0 = Off 127 = On
